Viktria Zeller, Michaela Barz-Herold, Johannes Holzfurtner, Philipp Bertsch and Michael Stieglbauer from the SRT Protective Factory Team int. in the top ten!
Almost 600 cyclists from all over the world crossed the Alps from 09 to 15 July, at the toughest stage race in Europe.
The route this year led from Nauders via Graun a. Reschensee-Livignio-Bormio-Male-Valle del Chiese-Valle di Ledro-Riva del Garda in 7 stages. With a total of 550 km and 18,000 altitude meters spread over the 7 stages, it was quite a sporting affair for the local MTB pros.
The women’s team with Viktoria Zeller and Michaela Barz could be more than satisfied with 3 stage victories, at the end placed 2nd in the overall standings and each earned 125 points on the world rank.
The men’s team with Philipp Bertsch and team manager Michael Stieglbauer cycled a constant race from the first day. With 7th place in the final result, they were also more than satisfied and could win 60 points each on their world rank!
Johannes Holzfurtner was able to win a starting place for the individual category in a sweepstake held by the main sponsor of the event. Holzfurtner showed a top performance at his first stage race! With two third places at stage 1 and 6 he secured 5th place overall!
