Tina Fischl fights her way to second place at the Lipno Sports Festival

With a spirit of adventure and sporting ambition, Tina Fischl from WSV Otterskirchen took part in the Lipno Sports Festival at the Moldova Reservoir in the Czech Republic. She had no idea that it would turn out to be a surprise race since she hadn’t translated the announcement. All she knew was that it would be around ten kilometers with an elevation gain of 350 meters.

After the start, it turned out to be challenging trail run over ski slopes, a viewing tower, a treetop path, and a technical downhill section. The first long climb already sorted the field. Fischl was initially in fourth place but steadily fought her way forward. On the final climb to the treetop path, she took second place and defended it confidently to the finish line – behind the multiple Czech champion and only six men.

For Tina Fischl, it was not only a sporting success, but also a very special experience: “A competition where you only realize what you’ve gotten yourself into during the race – that doesn’t happen to me very often. But maybe I should try surprise races more often!?”

Confident start-to-finish victory for Tina Fischl at the Straubing Gäubodenfest-run

Endurance athlete Tina Fischl celebrated a successful race at the traditional Gäubodenvolksfest-run on Assumption Day in Straubing. The experienced runner set the pace from the start of the five-kilometer race and took the lead in the women’s field after just a few hundred meters.

In the end, she was able to celebrate a comfortable start-to-finish victory.

Her performance was particularly remarkable given the hot temperatures, which demanded everything from the athletes.

This success has special significance for the personal trainer from Fürstenstein: after a break due to injury this was her first competition in which she was able to test her form.

With this triumph, Tina Fischl seamlessly continued her strong performance from last year, when she also won the race in Straubing.

2nd Place in the Supreme Discipline

At the “Lamer Winkel” ultra-trail (UTLW), held in the Bavarian Forest region, exceptional runner Tina Fischl once again demonstrated her outstanding form.
In the supreme discipline, the “Bayerwaldkönig”, covering a 54-kilometer course with 2,500 meters of elevation gain, she once again impressively demonstrated her remarkable endurance and mental strength. The technically demanding route led across the mountain ranges around the Großer Arber and along the eight-thousand-meter peaks of the Goldsteig trail, before concluding in Lam after the challenging ascent to the Osser.

Despite the grueling conditions, Fischl got off to an excellent start. She held her position in the leading group and delivered a consistently strong performance throughout the race. However, due to a serious fall in the final third of the course, Tina Fischl had to slow down and was ultimately rewarded with an outstanding second place overall.

Especially remarkable: Tina Fischl also competed in the very first edition of the ultra-trail exactly ten years ago — and back then, she set a course record in the supreme discipline that still stands unbeaten to this day. A powerful testament to her long-standing excellence and consistency in endurance sports. At the finish line, she displayed great sportsmanship and expressed genuine respect for her fellow competitors. With this strong performance, she once again affirmed her exceptional status in the trail running scene and added another highlight to her successful running career.

Tina Fischl surprises in Madeira

Tina Fischl surprises in Madeira

Second place in the Santana Sky Race

What began as a sporting holiday ended in impressive success: Tina Fischl from WSV Otterskirchen took second place overall in the Madeira Sky Race. The 22-kilometer trail with an altitude difference of 1,800 meters demanded everything from the athletes – even experienced runners reached their limits.

The Fürstenstein native went into the race with no expectations – already having over 80 kilometers of running and hiking under her belt. Nevertheless, things went surprisingly well: she quickly caught up with the eventual winner, Carolina Vaz from Portugal, and kept pace with her until the highest point on the island, Pico Ruivo.

The second section of the course was particularly tough: technically demanding passages, steep stairs, slippery roots and sweltering heat. “I knew it would be a battle to the finish”, said Fischl. Nevertheless, she kept up the pace and secured second place ahead of Emily Westheimer from the US with a strong final sprint.

In addition to the athletic performance, the scenery was also impressive: narrow paths through lush, almost jungle-like vegetation made the race a real nature experience.

“I am incredibly proud that I was able to keep up with such strong competition”, summarized the personal trainer. Her success underlines that with passion, mental strength, and spontaneity, top performances can be achieved even under difficult conditions.

Fischl is already planning her next challenges – and is sure to continue surprising us with her athletic achievements in the future.

Tina Fischl triumphs at the ‚Herzogsstadtlauf‘ run in Straubing

At this year’s city run called Herzogsstadtlauf, personal trainer and WSV Otterskirchen athlete Tina Fischl from Fürstenstein braved the rainy weather and confidently secured victory in the 10-kilometer race. With an impressive finishing time of 37:56 minutes, she left the competition far behind and was crowned the fastest woman of the day – for the umpteenth time.

“I had a really good feeling right from the start and was able to keep up with the leading group of men from the very beginning”, said the experienced endurance athlete after the race. Despite the wet conditions, the atmosphere along the route was exuberant, with thousands of spectators cheering on the participants in the city center. “The support from the crowd was absolutely amazing”, added the winner.

Right from the start, Tina Fischl took the lead among the women and steadily extended it. Even her much younger competitors were unable to keep up with her pace. “I was surprised myself at how big the gap was at the end. Everything just went perfectly”, she stated with a smile in the finish area.

The victory has a special significance for her: “I see it as an early birthday present”, laughs the athlete, who has already been successful several times in the Herzogsstadtlauf run – both over 10 kilometers and in the half marathon.

Another highlight of the day: with over 6,000 participants, the record was broken for the first time, showing just how popular the running event in Straubing has become.

With this strong start, WSV athlete Tina Fischl is now fully motivated for the upcoming running season: “I am extremely satisfied with my run and am looking forward to everything else this year has in store!”

Tina wins the Ried i. Innkreis marathon

Tina Fischl runs a lonely race at the front in Ried

The traditional run took place again this year as part of the sports fair in Ried i. Innkreis.More than 300 athletes started in the 4 and 10 km distances. Both groups were sent on their way around the exhibition grounds at 11:30 am sharp.

Tina Fischl from Fürstenstein was also at the starting line. The multiple winner and course record holder had big plans and had to complete five 2-kilometer laps.

While the short-distance runners set a high pace, Fischl started in a controlled manner. After the first lap, she had already built up a lead of about a minute over the second-placed woman – and was even faster than all the women on the 4-kilometer course. She completed the rest of the race alone, braving the strong winds without a slipstream. Fischl won by a comfortable margin of over six minutes ahead of Christine Forstner in 38:15 minutes. In total, only three male runners were able to reach the finish line before Fischl.

Vertical up Kitzbühel – “Die Streif steht Kopf” (The Streif is upside down)

Outstanding performance by Tina Fischl, who wins bronze in the Verical Up on the “Streif”

Almost 1,000 professional and amateur athletes from 27 nations took on the ultimate challenge of “Vertical Up Kitzbühel”, in which the “Streif” is to be conquered from bottom to top as quickly as possible.

Instead of racing down into the valley on skis at breakneck speed, the route goes up to the maintain with studs, touring skis or snowshoes – and that’s more than 3.312 kilometers and 860 meters of altitude. The steepest sections have a gradient of 85 percent – and in addition it’s all happening at night.

Mountain running specialist Tina Fischl and her husband Alex also traveled to Kitzbühel. The two of them are very familiar with steep mountain races: Tina has already won the Schattenberg race, part of the Mountain Attack in Saalbach twice and just a few weeks ago she became Masters World Champion in ski mountaineering.

Metron eging GmbH, a long-standing sponsor of Tina Fischl, has specially made 25mm studs for this race so that Tina is perfectly equipped.

The starting signal was fired and the approximately 1,000 athletes rushed off as fast as they could towards the first steep slope.

On the steep slope of the traverse, Tina was immediately in her element. She instantly noticed that the specially made studs had the right grip and that the long nails gripped the ice perfectly.

On this extremely demanding route, every step had to be perfect to avoid falling. There was no time for tactical games, and in the dark, you could only see the lights of the other headlamps anyway.

Fischl mastered the so-called “alte Schneise” with a maximum incline of 85% well and was able to keep up the pace.

The final ascent via the “Mausefalle” was very exhausting and extremely difficult. The finish was right in the starting house of the World Cup downhill at 1,665 meters above sea level. At this point some athletes slid down the slope and faced major problems. Tina Fischl, however, made it through unscathed and was cheered on by hundreds of spectators at the top of the mountain. She crossed the finish line overjoyed as third-placed woman overall.

Tina Fischl wins the ALOHA winter run in Linz and sets a new course record

Start – finish – victory and a new course record

The ALOHA winter run cup has become a popular sporting event in Linz that brings together running enthusiasts from the region. Participants not only compete for personal bests, but also for the coveted victory in their respective categories.

The more than 200 participants from Austria and Bavaria could choose whether they wanted to run the 5km, 10km or 15km race.

At temperatures below freezing, partly strong winds and light snowfall, the runners had to cope with a 2.5km circular route with start and finish at the “Lentos Kunstmuseum”, along the Donaulände, past the Brucknerhaus and on the Kunstmeile. Each round featured a short but steep ascent.

Tina Fischl had also traveled to Linz that morning to compete against her rivals over the 10km distance and to test her current level of performance at the beginning of the new running season.

Right after the starting signal, the personal trainer from Fürstenstein took the lead of the women’s field and picked up the pace on the first lap. The gap to the second-placed woman quickly increased and Fischl was on her own.

Fischl left her competitors no chance in the further course of the race either. With an impressive time of 37:06 min., Tina Fischl not only secured overall victory, but also improved the course record for this distance by more than a minute. Second place went to Austrian Anna Lipp with a time of 40:34 min., ahead of Corina Kohlberger. In addition, only two male athletes crossed the finish line before the personal trainer at this distance.

Extremely satisfied and fully motivated, Tina Fischl is now looking forward to the upcoming events of the 2025 season.

Mountain Attack 2025 in Saalbach-Hinterglemm

Austria´s biggest and toughest ski touring race

The 27th Mountain Attack 2025 took place in Saalbach-Hinterglemm with almost perfect weather and track conditions. Highly motivated athletes from 22 nations were at the start line to prove their skills in the Schattberg Race (1,017 meters of altitude), the Tour (2,036 meters of altitude, 5 summits) or the Marathon (3,010 meters of altitude, 6 summits) and the Marathon Relay.

The Mountain-Attaq-Team Sport Zöls also participated as historically the largest German team. The female star of the team, personal trainer Tina Fischl (WSV Otterskirchen/Mountain-Attaq-Team Sport Zöls) from Fürstenstein, was again considered the favorite in the extreme Schattberg-Race after her two Schattberg victories in previous years and her success at the Vertical Masters World Championships in Werfenweng. From the center of Saalbach, up to the Schattberg, a total of 1,000 meters of altitude have to be mastered in just 4 km. In the steep slopes, the athletes must overcome gradients of over 70%.

As in previous years, the starting signal for this cult ski mountaineering event was given punctually at 4:00 p.m. at the town square of Saalbach. Armed with skies and poles in hand, the race started with a run through the town square of Saalbach over to the ski slope, where the athletes were cheered on by thousands of spectators. Once arrived, the skis were strapped on and off they went into the steep slope. Like every year, the slope on the Schattberg was hard and icy and could only be mastered with special crampons. Tina Fischl got off to a good start, everything went according to plan. Some athletes slipped on the steep slope and slid past the ascending athletes. Fortunately, Fischl was able to avoid them and followed her planned route to the top.

At the halfway point of the course, Tina was informed that she was currently in second place behind Ayaka Ueda from Japan. But she didn’t know about the competition behind her.

Fully focused, the athletes continued into the second section of the route, which most of them then completed without crampons. The upper part of this section was very steep, so it was important to have the optimal climbing skins on. Fischl had made the right choice and was able to master the passage perfectly. On the last few meters below the Schattberg mountain station, Fischl realized that she would no longer be able to catch up with the fast woman from Japan. The important thing now was to keep the competition at bay. Fischl was overjoyed when she reached the summit of the Schattberg at 2,097 meters above sea level in an outstanding time of just 54:37 minutes, coming in second behind Ayaka Ueda from Japan and ahead of Molly Zurn from the United States.

Schattberg Race – Women

  2. Tina Fischl (GER), 00:54:37
  3. Molly Zurn (USA), 01:03:14
