Tina Fischl was crowned world champion in ski mountaineering

A great success for the extreme sportswoman from Fürstenstein

Since 2020, the International Ski Mountaineering Federation (ISMF) has held the ISMF Masters World Championships in Werfenweng, Austria, every year. A total of over 400 athletes from 14 nations were registered this year.

The endurance athlete Tina Fischl from WSV Otterskirchen was competing in this world championship for the first time. The personal trainer from Fürstenstein has been competing in running events at all distances for many years with great success. For some time now, she has been using touring skis as a training tool in winter to get mountain training in the snow for the summer season. Fischl already attracted attention in 2022/2023 with her victories at the German Championships (Masters) in vertical ski mountaineering and at the vertical race as part of the Mountain Attack in Saalbach.

With perfect weather, sunshine and temperatures around -4°C, the vertical race started punctually at 1 pm by the organizers at the valley station of the Ikarus cable cars. Almost 200 starters were registered for this first competition of the ISMF Master World Championship was also held here for the categories Senior Master and U20.

Tina Fischl had a good starting position, her competitors however, started the race so fast that she lost contact with the leaders after just a few meters. Fischl has had this problem in previous races before, so she knew how to deal with this situation. After all, such races are not decided at the start. Fischl quickly fought her way back up the first steeper ski slope, overtaking many of the probably a little over-motivated women. This section ws followed by a long, flatter segment that could be mastered using the classic cross-country skiing technique.

Fischl managed to make up some places in this section as well. She was able to overtake several young athletes from Japan, Austria and Germany. This gave the experienced mountain specialist further courage but of course it also added to the pressure because she didn’t want to be caught from behind. It was not clear to Tina at which position she was at this point (around the middle station), she simply gave it her all and hoped to reach the summit as one of the first of the women’s field.

She also didn’t give in the last steep slope up to Bischling which is 1,835 meters above sea level. Here, the many spectators along the route were treated to high-class ski mountaineering.

The finish in bright sunshine at the summit of Bischling was very special for Tina Fischl. With her outstanding time of only 49 min. 29 sec. for the ascent of 870 meters and 4.7 km, Fischl earned overjoyed the victory in the Masters category W45 and thus also won the world champion title. The second-placed woman in this class, Senn Martina from Austria, came in well behind her after 55 min. 45 sec.

A perfect end to the year at the HYPO New Year’s Eve Run in Linz

Tina Fischl wins overall title again

The TriRun Team Linz organized an authentic running event at the end of the year at the main square in downtown Linz.

More than 1,100 runners took on the challenge just before New Year’s Eve.

When arriving in Linz, the 3,000-meter-long circuit which had to be run twice was toured. The route through the lively city is quite challenging due to the different cobblestone surfaces and the tram tracks running along it, making it certainly not a classic circuit racetrack. The conditions were not ideal either, with temperatures around -1°C and an overcast sky. The many spectators along the route could nevertheless once again expect a fast race.

The starting signal was fired at 3:00 p.m. sharp at the main square in Linz. Tina Fischl started the race very fast from the beginning to see what her competitors were capable of. By the middle of the first lap, the personal trainer from Fürstenstein was already able to pull away from her pursuers and gained a lead of about 25 seconds. Fully motivated by the many viewers along the route and running through the small streets of the city center, Fischl tried to keep up the pace in the second round, after which her lead over her competitors increased even more.

Fischl held on to her lead over the last few meters if the demanding course and ran overjoyed towards victory.

The many spectators gave Tina Fischl a rousing reception in the finish area on Linz’s main square, where she won with an impressive gala performance and an excellent time of 20:58 minutes. The Austrian Iris Hermann from TriRun Linz crossed the finish line 1:20 minutes after Fischl. Gudrun Steiner from SV Gallneukirchen came in third.

Tina Fischl was more than satisfied with her run at the end of the year as well as with the entire running season and is now looking forward to the 2025 season full of motivation.

37th Alzauenlauf in Trostberg

Tina Fischl wins by a clear margin

The 37th Alzauenlauf, organized by the TSV Trostberg, was a complete success with more than 600 participants at the start despite the cool, cloudy weather.

With a commanding victory here, Tina was able to conclude yet another very successful running season.

Although the 10-kilometer long and somewhat undulating circuit along the Alzauen was not exactly easy to run, Tina is more than satisfied with her time of 37:30 minutes. She was able to leave the much younger competition behind by more than 2 minutes.

Trainee excursion to BMW Welt and the BMW Museum

Trainee excursion to BMW Welt and the Museum

Our trainees visited the BMW Welt and the BMW Museum in Munich together with some of their instructors. The aim of the excursion was to show the trainees how their work ultimately comes across in a real environment and what significance it has in large projects.

At BMW Welt, they were able to experience an impressive exhibition of the latest vehicle models and innovations from BMW. It was particularly exciting for the trainees to see the projects and products that they had worked on during their training in a professional setting. This enabled them to understand the connection between their own work and the final product and strengthened their awareness of the importance of their work in the company.
