Tina Fischl triumphs at the ‚Herzogsstadtlauf‘ run in Straubing
At this year’s city run called Herzogsstadtlauf, personal trainer and WSV Otterskirchen athlete Tina Fischl from Fürstenstein braved the rainy weather and confidently secured victory in the 10-kilometer race. With an impressive finishing time of 37:56 minutes, she left the competition far behind and was crowned the fastest woman of the day – for the umpteenth time.
“I had a really good feeling right from the start and was able to keep up with the leading group of men from the very beginning”, said the experienced endurance athlete after the race. Despite the wet conditions, the atmosphere along the route was exuberant, with thousands of spectators cheering on the participants in the city center. “The support from the crowd was absolutely amazing”, added the winner.
Right from the start, Tina Fischl took the lead among the women and steadily extended it. Even her much younger competitors were unable to keep up with her pace. “I was surprised myself at how big the gap was at the end. Everything just went perfectly”, she stated with a smile in the finish area.
The victory has a special significance for her: “I see it as an early birthday present”, laughs the athlete, who has already been successful several times in the Herzogsstadtlauf run – both over 10 kilometers and in the half marathon.
Another highlight of the day: with over 6,000 participants, the record was broken for the first time, showing just how popular the running event in Straubing has become.
With this strong start, WSV athlete Tina Fischl is now fully motivated for the upcoming running season: “I am extremely satisfied with my run and am looking forward to everything else this year has in store!”
